Elgin L. Hushbeck Jr, is an author, engineer, small business owner, educator, lecturer, and family man. Yet perhaps more than anything, Mr. Hushbeck is an Evangelical Christian for over 30 years. In his teens and early adult years, Mr Hushbeck was a confirmed atheist. But through a series of encounters with Christians and others, he saw his argument against Christianity fall apart in the late 1970s. This background, no doubt, is a large factor in his interest in the evidence for the Christian faith, and the founding principles of his first two books.  In 1994 he started Consider Christianity Week, which "is devoted to the ideal that Christianity is not just a belief founded on wishful thinking, but a faith solidly grounded in fact." Mr. Hushbeck's background includes academic studies in religion, history, and engineering, culminating with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master's degrees in Christian Apologetics and an MBA in Technology Management. As an engineer he has worked for several engineering and technology firms including 5 years at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. At NASA, Mr. Hushbeck was an active part of the Voyager Flight Team for Voyager's encounter with the Planet Neptune. Since 1999 he and his wife have owned their own company, which designs and develops databases and custom software applications for businesses. From his parents Mr Hushbeck learned a love of this country, and an interest in politics, working as a volunteer on campaigns since the late 1960s. These, combined with his study of history, are the origins of his most recent book, Preserving Democracy. Mr. Hushbeck has taught at Simon Greenleaf University, the University of Phoenix, and most recently, Rassmussen College. He has taught, among other things, classes in Information Techonology, Computer Science, and Business. He’s also taught critical thinking both to students, and to other faculty members. He has spoken on current affairs and apologetics around the country, and took part in a public debate sponsored by Simon Greenleaf University entitled 'Did Jesus Claim to be God?' Mr. Hushbeck, of course, represented the Pro-side.

I am an avid reader, music and movie lover who seeks to let my writing be inspired and influenced by the other creative outlets in my life. I love the Lord and want to use all my gifts to His glory; I find the greatest pleasure in hearing His voice and the greatest privilege in sharing His message. Right now I am in a season of life where not too much of "me" is defined other than my belonging to Christ. But my identity begins and ends with Him and I am learning more contentment in that fact and in Jesus everyday. I hope to accomplish many more things in the writing and musical realms in the future and am sure God has plenty of adventures up ahead!
